William “Willie” Paul, 5th Ward Councilman, is a
lifelong resident of Steubenville. He graduated from Steubenville
Catholic Central, and then began his career at Weirton Steel, now
known as ArcelorMittal Weirton USA. He is in his 38th year of
service, currently working in the Safety and Health Department as a
Safety Specialist. Mr. Paul also was the head volleyball coach at
Weir High School for 11 years. He is a member of Triumph of the
Cross Parish - Holy Rosary.
Mr. Paul is married and has two daughters. His wife Karen
(DeChristopher) is currently employed at Franciscan University. His
daughter Amy, is a graduate of Walsh University and the University of
Akron with a Master’s Degree in Special Education; Julie is currently
in her final year at Franciscan University pursuing a Communications
Degree. He was elected to a four year term beginning January 1,
2012. Mr. Paul serves on the Parks and Recreation, Building and
Grounds, and the Service committees.
