David "Pokey" Lalich, 6th Ward Councilman, was born in Steubenville on 2/14/45 and graduated from Catholic Central. Mr. Lalich attended one year at Ohio University, then married Darla Straka a Steubenville resident and graduate of Steubenville High School. He has two sons, David of Steubenville and Michael of Raleigh, N.C., both graduates of Ohio State University.
Councilman Lalich retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel after 35 years of service. He also has David Lalich & Sons Home Improvement Business for years. He was first elected in January 1998. He has been re-elected to serve his third term which expires December 31, 2009. Mr. Lalich is the Chairman of Finance, Safety & Health, and the Economic Developments Committees and also serves on the Service Committee.
