The Street Department erects all street and stop signs, repairs potholes, does centerline striping, crack sealing, maintains unimproved streets, paints curbs, removes snow and trims trees and grass on all city right-of-ways. This division maintains street and traffic lights and repairs all city facilities.

Steubenville’s Superintendent of the Street, Sanitation, and Electrical Departments is a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He began his employment with the city as a maintenance worker in the Street Department and then served as an assistant electrician in the Electrical Department before becoming Superintendent in 2010. Prior to joining the city, Mr. Baird worked in the mechanical contracting industry and has extensive experience as a technician, territory manager, and project manager. He resides in Steubenville with his wife and four children.
